The First Permanent English Settlement (something i had to writh for school)
In 1607 the hopeful Englishmen founded the Jamestown Settlement in the new world. Jamestown was the first English settlement in Virgina. They struggled to survive, because they did not know how to farm. The English did not work much, because they traveled in search of riches. Jamestown would not have survived if it were not for Captain John Smith. Captain Smith knew how to trade and have peace with the Indian's. He wisely created a smart rule "He who will not work shall not eat!" Even though the Englishmen could not find Gold, they still had a successful colony. Jamestown is still a city in Virginia today. And it was the first permanent English settlement in the New World.

A really cool Rock!
Someone sent it in a e-mail!
Can't believe this was done by a teenager!!
There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed.
It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos. (all angles) of the rock.
I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Good news, and Bad news, Did you know?
I am sooooo mad because we can't go to TN like we were hopping for :(
The reason why we can't go is because my dad hurt his finger playing basketball (i feel really bad for him), and he will most likely need surgery! :(
I finish school in 2 weeks!!!!! yippie!!!!! i can't wait!
Did you know (that from where we live) you can go to Chicago by bus for $11 a seat!

Some things....and my day!
Sorry i have not posted in a few day! :(
I've been busy....and i've also been working on my side bar. I added some new stuff. Do you like it?
Today i babysat (like i normally do every Thursday), and it was really funny because i brought my younger sister Elaina (to play with the one girl who is her age), and watching to 4 year old girls is a total crack up!
I also had to go to my bro's Orchestra Concert (it was really boring except when they were playing).
Here are some cool things you might want to check out:

My Science! and Prayer Request
I finished my Science today!!!!
I was supposed to finish it at the end of the week but i decided to finish it today! it was a lot of reading but i'm glad it's done!
Prayer Request: My sister Kristin is kinda sick today, she was not feeling well yesterday evening after she came home from Church, and she thinks it is something she ate there, so pray that she feels better soon!

Busy, Busy, Busy!
I have been very busy these past couple of day!
I did some babysitting jobs, went to see the play Fiddler on the roof at my Church and the kids that preformed it did an awesome job! And i hope to go see the play Willie Wonka that my friend is in.
And i end school the second week in June!!!! the only subject that goes longer is my Math (because i started the book late!) and i end that at the end of June!! I can't wait for Summer! :)

Hey!
For once i am writing only one day after writing the previous post! WOW! I've never done that before! :)
But a few things that i forgot to tell you in the other post....
That i won a contest a few weeks ago!!!!!! I won two Applebees desert coupons! I have never won one before! And Thanks To Caroline who hosted the contest :)
Also, we are going to Tennessee on the 29 of May to go visit some friends! I SO can not wait to go!, but i am NOT looking forward to the car ride! (I'm sure some of you girls can relate to that because you have big families)....
....and i think that is about it.....but i could be wrong so check my blog again soon for more posts :)

Long time...no writing!
It's been sort of a long time since i wrote here :(
I have not posted the pictures on the blog yet, because it takes a very long time to up load them, because of our computer! (it's really old!)
Let's see........what am i up too???.....um.....
Most of the same old stuff...school....babysitting....going to Church.....and some other things.
Yesterday when i went church, we had to go at 9:15 instead of 10:15, because my parents are in the New Member Class, so me and Elizabeth went to the Middle School Bible Study, and I actually meet some people! And i felt like i knew some people! (We have been going there for a year or more, and i just meet my first friends!) So that was my fun thing yesturday :)
Babysitting is going good too :)
When are you ending school??
I am ending at different times (because i started different subjects at different times)
I don't think i have much more to say....Wait i do have one more thing..
Happy Mothers day mom! (a little late!)

Tip of the Day
Here is the tip of the day....and it actually works :)
Do you know how you get frustrated when you get an oil stain on a piece of your clothing?
Well...
When you use dish soap and rub it on the shirt after you get it wet....and then you rinse it out...then wash and dry (don't dry it if it is a shirt that you do no put in the dryer) it. Tell me how it works for you! i tried it today of one of my shirts and it worked really well!
